A tragic amateur footballer who died after suffering a suspected brain haemorrhage during a match is set to save seven lives by donating his organs.
Superfit Adam Bain passed away in hospital after collapsing in front of horrified Gartcosh United teammates in a game with Drumchapel FP.
His heartbroken family watched in agony as the popular 30-year-old’s life support machine was switched off late on Sunday night.
But last night his stepmum Fiona told how they’d been “inspired” by his selfless gesture to donate his organs to others.
The 52-year-old, of Baillieston, Glasgow, said: “They will hopefully go to help seven people.
“If we want we will get to meet the people he donated his organs to through time. We are quite touched by that and we think he is a brave person to do that for someone else.
“We are really inspired by him.”
