SCOTTISH TRANSPLANT PARENTS GIVE THANKS FOR THEIR FAMILIES

Twelve mums and dads whose organ transplants enabled them to give birth to a new generation have joined together to highlight how organ donation and the NHS Organ Donor Register can transform lives.

The parents, who between them have gone on to have 20 children, acknowledged the role organ donation has played in allowing them to live healthy lives and have families as a national tour to raise awareness of organ donation kicked off today.

One of the parents backing the drive is Naomi Stocks from Edinburgh who underwent a successful liver transplant in 2004 after sustaining liver damage as a result of an unexpected illness.  The success of the transplant op gave her a new life and allowed to her to go on to have two healthy children – Zoe now aged six and baby Devon born in March 2012.
